Luke Littler has criticised a fan for 'bad behaviour' after being grabbed while posing for pictures in Prague ahead of the Czech Open. The 18-year-old darts world champion arrived at his hotel late on Friday evening and agreed to take photos with a group of supporters.
However, as he attempted to walk away, one fan grabbed him, prompting Littler to post a furious message on social media. He wrote: 'Just came to the hotel in Prague, got a few pictures. Baring in mind it's 20 past 11 here, it's busy, so got a few pictures with a few people. And as I've gone to walk off, someone has grabbed me and wanted a picture. You don't grab someone, just ask. How hard is it?'
The teenager also addressed criticism from the same fan, who accused him of bad behaviour for walking away. Littler added: 'And for the guy who came up to me and my dad, shouting 'hey', and then said my behaviour was bad and I was no better than anyone else, DON'T GRAB ME FROM BEHIND, because that's bad behavior, not mine. As soon as he grabbed me, I told him not to touch me and walked away.'
Littler is in Prague for the Czech Open, where he faces Cameron Menzies in the first round for a prize fund of £30,000. The incident follows a series of fan-related issues for the star, including jeering in Liverpool and booing from German fans at the World Cup of Darts in June, which led him to hint at boycotting events in Germany. Despite this, he is set to compete in the German Darts Championship next month.
