Liverpool’s Jeremy Jacquet to Undergo Shoulder Surgery After Injury

Liverpool’s incoming defender Jeremy Jacquet is set to undergo shoulder surgery, Rennes have confirmed. The 20-year-old central defender sustained a left shoulder injury during a match against Lens on February 7, forcing him off the pitch early.

Jacquet was signed by Liverpool on transfer deadline day last month for a fee of £60 million, with a guaranteed £55 million and an additional £5 million in add-ons. He will remain at Rennes for the remainder of the season before officially joining Arne Slot’s side in the summer.

Following medical examinations, surgery has been scheduled in the coming days. Jacquet has already missed Rennes’ wins over Paris Saint-Germain, Auxerre, and Toulouse, and is unlikely to feature again this season.

A statement from Rennes confirmed the injury and the decision to operate. The timeline for his return has not yet been disclosed, but the club will monitor his recovery closely.
