Liverpool vs Brighton: Barcola latest and predicted XI

Bradley Barcola should be available for Liverpool's Premier League match against Brighton this weekend. The Frenchman was one of four senior players not seen during a training session open to Sky Sports on Thursday, though reports indicate he was completing an individual programme away from his team-mates.

Barcola's fitness and selection dilemma

Barcola has been an ever-present for Liverpool in the Premier League since joining from Paris Saint-Germain in a £123million transfer over the summer. Head coach Andoni Iraola is expected to provide an update on his fitness at Friday afternoon's pre-Brighton press conference.

With Rio Ngumoha and Cody Gakpo impressing in midweek, Iraola faces a selection dilemma in the wide areas. However, the choice of Alexander Isak for Lewis Koumas up front appears straightforward.

Victor Munoz is a doubt after sustaining a minor knee injury in last weekend's comeback win over Brentford. The winger missed Tuesday night's match, and it remains unclear whether he will be fit to return as Liverpool host Brighton at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Injuries and predicted lineup

Dominik Szoboszlai is likely to miss the Brighton game with a hamstring injury. Jeremie Frimpong's muscle issue is expected to keep him out for around a month, joining Hugo Ekitike, Giovanni Leoni and Conor Bradley on the sidelines.

Iraola could recall Florian Wirtz after he scored as a substitute in midweek, most likely for Trey Nyoni. That change would see Ryan Gravenberch drop back into a more natural central midfield role alongside Alexis Mac Allister.

Predicted Liverpool XI vs Brighton (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Ngumoha, Wirtz, Barcola; Isak.
