Liverpool tipped as top destination for Bournemouth's Alex Scott

Liverpool are reportedly the most likely destination for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, who has attracted interest from several top European clubs. The England international impressed last season and is expected to move in January.

Interest from Premier League and Europe

According to Gianluca DiMarzio, Liverpool are "one of the most likely destinations" for Scott, along with Arsenal and AC Milan. Paris Saint-Germain are also contenders, especially after star forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia suffered a serious injury.

Chelsea tried to sign Scott in the summer, but Bournemouth rejected a £64m bid. Other clubs also made approaches, but the Cherries were determined to keep him.

Scott's rise and current injury

Scott has earned two England caps and impressed in the 7-0 win over Croatia, playing alongside Elliot Anderson and Jude Bellingham. He is currently recovering from a hamstring injury picked up on international duty and has not played in the Premier League since Liverpool's 1-0 win at the Vitality Stadium.

He joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in the summer of 2023 and has since become a key player.

Bournemouth's stance and potential fee

Bournemouth are keen to tie Scott down to a new contract to fend off interest. Owner Bill Foley told talkSPORT: "At this point, we're convinced we're the right place for Alex to be and to stay, and we'll keep on addressing the contract issues with Alex as we move through this year."

He added: "We'd love to have Alex stay here and sign a new contract and be part of this team for the long haul. We haven't given up, but sometimes players get stars in their eyes, and they think that Chelsea or Manchester City is the right place to go."

Foley also said: "We believe, if we keep on buying infrastructure and a common thread of leadership across the team then we will start keeping more and more players. People will be surprised about that, and they'll be able to earn substantial wages here."

Bournemouth may consider selling in January if they are confident of avoiding relegation, but a bid of around £100m could be required. PSG are also in the hunt for a third consecutive Champions League title and see Scott as a potential addition.
