Meanwhile, reports from Spain suggest that incoming Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has identified Ibrahima Konate as a key target. The French defender is set to leave Liverpool on a free transfer, with AS reporting that Madrid have renewed negotiations and are planning a four-year contract with an option for an extra year.
Konate's exit was announced last week, and he is expected to join Mourinho, who has signed a three-year deal to return to Madrid, according to The Athletic. The centre-back will feature for France in the upcoming World Cup 2026.
