Liverpool Receive Major Boost in Bradley Barcola Transfer Chase
Liverpool Boosted in Bradley Barcola Transfer Pursuit

Liverpool have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola.

Paris Saint-Germain are thought to have quoted a price tag of around £145 million for the forward, who appears unlikely to sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes. Meanwhile, Sky Sports reported earlier this month that Liverpool had opened talks with Monaco over a deal for Maghnes Akliouche, as they look to strengthen out wide following the departure of Mohamed Salah on a free transfer.

Missed Out on Top Target

Liverpool have missed out on their primary target Yan Diomande. The 19-year-old Ivorian teenager saw a bid worth €100 million reportedly rejected by RB Leipzig, and he now looks set to sign for Real Madrid, with an agreement rumoured to be close.

Barcola has emerged as their new priority, and all eyes will be on him after Foot Mercato claimed that Akliouche would rather sign for PSG than Liverpool, informing the Premier League side as much. It seems likely that Paris would move for Akliouche should Barcola depart.

Transfer Dominos Set in Motion

The fact that Monaco are set to land a seemingly ready-made replacement for Akliouche could set the transfer dominos in motion. Fabrizio Romano reports that Monaco have agreed a deal worth €25 million to sign Matthis Abline from Nantes. Abline can operate in all three positions in the attacking third.

If and when Abline arrives at the Stade Louis II, it would allow Akliouche to leave for the French capital, and open the door for Liverpool to move for Barcola as they chase another option on the flanks.
