Liverpool's hopes of finishing in the Premier League's top four suffered a damaging blow as Harrison Reed scored a stunning stoppage-time equaliser to earn Fulham a 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage. Reed struck in the seventh minute of added time, finding the top corner from 30 yards just moments after Cody Gakpo had appeared to secure a late winner for the visitors.
Fulham took the lead in the 17th minute when Harry Wilson, a former Liverpool academy player, finished past Alisson after a deft flick from Raul Jimenez. The goal was allowed to stand after a VAR review confirmed Virgil van Dijk had played Wilson onside by the narrowest margin.
Liverpool equalised just before the hour mark through Florian Wirtz, who swept home after a mazy run and pass from Conor Bradley. The goal required another tight VAR check for offside, but Wirtz was deemed level with Issa Diop. Gakpo then appeared to have won it in the fourth minute of stoppage time, shovelling the ball over the line from close range.
However, substitute Reed produced a remarkable strike from long range to salvage a point for Fulham, leaving Liverpool frustrated after a largely blunt attacking display. The result follows a dour goalless draw against Leeds, putting pressure on Arne Slot's side in the race for Champions League qualification.
