Jordan McCann has performed a retirement U-turn and will make a sensational return to the boxing ring next weekend.
The Manchester rapper made his Misfits Boxing debut back in June - but would go on to lose to Ibiza Final Boss in a scrappy affair. McCann, 32, returned to action earlier this month against the 'UK's Hardest Man' - more commonly known as Big Stacks.
Feud settled in the ring
Both men were involved in a physical altercation earlier this year and had the chance to settle their feud in the ring. And it was Stacks - real name Charlie Robert - who emerged victorious after stopping his rival in the second round. McCann was struggling to see out of his right eye and when the fight was paused in the second stanza for it to be inspected, the doctor had no option but to wave off the contest.
Just days after the defeat to Stacks, McCann announced his retirement from boxing. "I really had a good time doing the Misfits. I really appreciate it and I appreciate Mams (Taylor) and stuff. But yeah, I will not be doing that again," he said in a video uploaded to social media.
Return against Mo Deen
But just weeks after calling it a day, Misfits announced that the Salford scrapper would be making a return to the ring next weekend and would take on Mo Deen at the Copper Box Arena in London.
The 32-year-old was quick to break his silence following the news. Commenting on a fight poster, McCann wrote: "The only person I'm getting a win from so I had 2 take it. Easy money couldn't say no"
Card details
McCann's return will take place on October 10 - with the card expected to be headlined by a dust-up between TV personality Joey Essex and Dapper Laughs. The clash marks Essex's second appearance under the Misfits banner after he won his debut against NUMEIRO last year.
In the co-main event, heavyweight champion Chase DeMoor will put his title on the line against Plinio Cruz. Cruz - who is well-known for training former two division UFC champion Alex Pereira - is a former MMA fighter, but will lace up the Misfits Boxing gloves for the first time. Big Stacks will also compete on the showcase when he faces former Premier League defender James Collins in a mouthwatering bout.
