Norwegian rock singer Jonas Lovv is set to represent his country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with his electrifying track 'Ya Ya Ya'. The 31-year-old artist, who hails from Fyllingsdalen near Bergen, first gained national attention after competing in the tenth season of The Voice Norway last year, where he advanced to the semi-finals. Known for his bold stage presence and colourful outfits, Lovv has drawn comparisons to UK pop star Harry Styles, thanks to his tattoos and charismatic style.
The Song: 'Ya Ya Ya'
'Ya Ya Ya' kicks off with snarling electric guitars and pounding drums, immediately setting a high-energy tone. Lovv's lyrics delve into themes of love and self-control, as he sings: 'You've been thinking 'bout love, how it got you so low / Baby I'm an animal, I got no self control.' The song is a full-throttle rock anthem designed to captivate audiences and judges alike.
Norway's Eurovision Legacy
Norway has a mixed history at Eurovision, having won the competition three times, most recently in 2009 with Alexander Rybak's 'Fairytale'. However, the country also holds the record for the most last-place finishes, with 12. In 2023, Norway achieved a top-five finish thanks to Alessandra's 'Queen of Kings', but last year's entry by Kyle Alessandro with 'Lighter' placed 18th, a disappointing result. Lovv sees this year's contest as an opportunity to restore Norway's standing and establish himself as a serious artist.
Jonas Lovv's Journey
Having honed his craft through live performances at gigs and festivals in summer 2025, Lovv views Eurovision as a chance to fully launch his career. In an interview, he emphasised his passion for music: 'I do this simply because I love it. My only goal is for the audience to see exactly that. I’m here for the love of music and all the connections I make along this journey.'
