Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has moved to quash speculation surrounding Anthony Gordon's future, insisting the winger remains fully committed to the club despite reported interest from Bayern Munich.
Howe Dismisses Transfer Talk
Speaking ahead of Newcastle's final three Premier League matches, Howe confirmed he is not involved in any discussions regarding a potential move for Gordon. The 24-year-old England international has been linked with a summer switch to the Bundesliga giants, but Howe stressed that he judges the player's dedication based on their daily interactions and training performances.
"I have no involvement in any talks about Anthony's future," Howe said. "I base my assessment on our relationship and how he trains. He has been outstanding in training, and I see no reason to doubt his commitment."
Gordon's Impact at Newcastle
Gordon joined Newcastle from Everton in January 2023 for a fee of around £45 million. Since then, he has established himself as a key figure in Howe's side, scoring 17 goals across all competitions this season. His form has attracted attention from top European clubs, but Howe remains confident that Gordon is focused on the task at hand.
Injury Updates: Miley and Livramento
Howe also provided injury updates on two other squad members. Midfielder Lewis Miley has suffered a fractured fibula during training and will miss the remainder of the campaign. The 18-year-old is expected to be sidelined for several weeks, though Howe expressed hope that he could return in time for pre-season.
"Lewis's injury is a blow," Howe admitted. "He has been progressing well, but we will support him through his recovery. We hope to have him back for pre-season."
Meanwhile, right-back Tino Livramento is making progress in his rehabilitation but is unlikely to feature again this season. The 21-year-old has been out with a long-term injury, and Howe confirmed that the club will not rush his return.
