Harry Maguire will spend his summer as a guest on The Rest is Football podcast after being omitted from England's World Cup squad, according to reports. The 33-year-old defender missed out on Thomas Tuchel's 26-man selection, marking his second consecutive international tournament absence after injury ruled him out of Euro 2024.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are pressing ahead with transfer plans under Michael Carrick. The club has reportedly agreed a £38.8million deal for Atalanta midfielder Ederson and is now eyeing West Ham's Mateus Fernandes. The Red Devils have made contact with the relegated side, which has placed an £80million price tag on the Portugal international.
Arsenal are also linked with Fernandes, who impressed in his debut Premier League season. United's midfield rebuild comes as Casemiro's departure has left a gap in the engine room ahead of their Champions League return.
