Erling Haaland has scored in each of his last five Premier League appearances for Manchester City, but the Norwegian striker is still some way off matching Jamie Vardy's record of scoring in 11 consecutive games.
Vardy set the record during Leicester City's remarkable 2015/16 title-winning season, beating Ruud van Nistelrooy's previous mark. No player has matched it since, with Vardy himself and Alexander Isak the closest, with eight-game runs.
Haaland's best streak stands at seven, achieved early in the 2022/23 campaign. He currently has five straight games with a goal, including a winner at Brentford and braces against Burnley and Manchester United.
Liverpool ended Haaland's previous seven-game run in 2022, and the Reds could again prove an obstacle when City face them in four matches' time. If Haaland scores in every game before then, he would draw level with Vardy against Leeds at the end of November.
Haaland returned early from international duty with Norway, who are close to qualifying for the World Cup. The Norwegian FA cited his tight match schedule, not injury, as the reason.
