Gyokeres' Ex-Girlfriend Hints at Reconciliation After Arsenal Move

Viktor Gyokeres' former partner, Ines Aguiar, has sparked speculation that the couple may have reunited, months after reports claimed they split to facilitate the striker's transfer to Arsenal. The Sweden international joined the Gunners last summer for £64 million after a protracted stand-off with Sporting CP.

Aguiar, an actor and influencer with 208,000 Instagram followers, posted a series of photos with the caption 'Somewhere in a very recent past'. Fans quickly noted that one selfie video was filmed inside Mansfield's Field Mill Stadium, where Gyokeres' Arsenal faced the League One side in the FA Cup earlier this month.

The 27-year-old forward did not feature in that match, remaining on the bench during the narrow 2-1 victory. Aguiar was seen in the stands wearing a black leather coat, hoodie, and cap, blending in with the blue and yellow seating.

Portuguese media had claimed Gyokeres ended his year-long relationship with Aguiar to avoid ties to Portugal while pushing for a move. The break-up inspired an Arsenal fan chant, to the tune of Salt-N-Pepa's 'Push It', with lyrics referencing the split. Gyokeres was later asked about the chant but did not confirm its accuracy.

Aguiar was a regular presence at Gyokeres' games during his time at Sporting, even wearing his jersey and being approached by fans about his future. She had once jokingly promised to persuade him to stay for a third season. Gyokeres has since scored 16 goals in 42 appearances for Arsenal, though he failed to find the net in the Carabao Cup final last weekend.

His immediate focus is on Sweden's World Cup qualification play-off against Ukraine on Thursday.
