Goodwoof, a festival for dogs held at the Goodwood estate near Chichester, West Sussex, returned for its second year, attracting around 5,000 visitors and their four-legged companions. The event offered a range of activities including dog yoga, sound baths (meditation with dogs), sledwork lessons, and Canicross (running attached to your dog by a harness).
Among the attendees was a black labrador who sized up a leafy lookalike, while a poodle with bright pink ears pranced in the sun. In the agility area, labradors were seen clattering into jumps rather than clearing them. The festival also featured professional demonstrations, such as collies herding sheep and cocker spaniels collecting goodies and leaping over fences.
One attendee, Debbie Simms-Walker, brought her poodle Darla, who sported freshly dyed pink ears and tail. Simms-Walker noted that Darla receives regular grooming, with washing, combing, and blow-drying every couple of weeks. In the Barkitecture corner, Grand Designs host Kevin McCloud chatted with comedian Bill Bailey about kennel designs for offices.
Groomer Bev Jordan, 57, from Fetcham, Surrey, commented on the enthusiasm for dressing up dogs, saying, 'The girls just love getting dressed up.' The event also featured a woodland walk and a dog swimming area called Fido's Lido, where dogs could splash around.
