Real Zaragoza goalkeeper Esteban Andrada was sent off during a heated Spanish second-tier derby against Huesca on Sunday, after which he punched the opposing captain in the face, triggering a mass brawl.
Incident Details
Andrada received a second yellow card in the match, and in the ensuing chaos, he struck Huesca captain Jorge Pulido in the face. The altercation quickly escalated, involving players from both sides. As a result, Huesca goalkeeper Dani Jimenez and Zaragoza's Dani Tasende were also shown red cards.
Apology and Consequences
Andrada later apologised for his actions, admitting he "lost focus" during the game. Real Zaragoza condemned the behaviour and indicated that severe disciplinary measures would follow. The 1-0 defeat to relegation rivals Huesca leaves Zaragoza in the relegation zone, and Andrada's loan spell at the club could be terminated prematurely.
The incident has drawn widespread criticism, with many calling for strict penalties to prevent such conduct in the future. The Spanish league authorities are expected to review the events and impose additional sanctions.
