Davina McCall gives Trinny Woodall 'dressing-down' over grey knickers

Davina McCall has urged her close friend Trinny Woodall to ditch her plain grey underwear and embrace feeling confident and sensual. The 58-year-old television presenter told the former What Not To Wear star: 'You owe it to yourself to wake up every morning and put on the 'boss' underwear.'

The advice came during an online video in which Trinny, 62, discussed her confidence struggles following her separation from art collector Charles Saatchi in 2023. Showing Davina a drawer filled with grey knickers, Trinny joked: 'This is my underwear drawer – you can tell I haven't had a relationship for three years.'

Trinny admitted the conversation had transformed her perspective, saying: 'How many of you see your friends in sexy underwear but think, 'not for me'...? I'm sure many of you will relate when I say I'd rather be comfortable than feel like I have a cheese grater up my bottom.'

She added that Davina's recent health battles had prompted her to reconsider. 'After navigating some life-threatening challenges, Davina has reached a place where she actively prioritises her identity as a sensual woman,' Trinny said. 'It made me realise that I don't embrace the softer, feminine side of myself as much as I perhaps ought to... Time to push the boat out a little bit.'

Davina recently opened up about her health struggles, including a benign brain tumour removed through surgery and a subsequent breast cancer diagnosis. Speaking on Heart Breakfast, she described the period as deeply challenging, saying: 'It felt like being punched in the face by the universe.'
