Frank and Mbeumo Reunited as Tottenham Host Manchester United

Thomas Frank and Bryan Mbeumo will be reunited for the first time since the summer when Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend. Frank, now Tottenham manager, had explored a move for Mbeumo after replacing Ange Postecoglou, but the Cameroon international opted to join United instead.

Last season, Frank and Mbeumo were key figures at Brentford, where the forward scored a career-best 20 goals as the Bees finished 10th. Since moving to Old Trafford for up to £71 million, Mbeumo has netted five times in 11 appearances across all competitions, including four in the league. Frank praised his former player, calling him United's best offensive player and a perfect example of attitude and humility.

Mbeumo enters the match fresh from winning the Premier League Player of the Month award for October, becoming United's first recipient since Bruno Fernandes in March and the first Cameroonian since Joel Matip in 2022.

This weekend's clash is the first meeting between the sides since the Europa League final in May, which Spurs won 1-0 to secure Champions League qualification. United manager Ruben Amorim acknowledged his team's improvement since then, citing greater confidence and game management, but admitted they will need luck to win.
