Bruno Fernandes scored a stunning 91st-minute winner to give Manchester United a dramatic 1-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage. The Portuguese midfielder curled home from the edge of the box after a defensive mix-up by the hosts, securing three points for Erik ten Hag's side in a match they had largely struggled to control.
Fulham were the better side for much of the game, creating more chances and showing greater creativity in the final third. Harry Wilson and Joao Palhinha both went close, while Alex Iwobi impressed in midfield. However, a catastrophic 15-second spell in stoppage time undid their efforts, as a routine clearance turned into chaos, allowing Fernandes to strike.
United had a goal from Scott McTominay ruled out for offside against Harry Maguire in the first half, with VAR confirming the decision after a lengthy review. Maguire, who had a solid game defensively, was also involved in United's attacking play, launching long balls to Rasmus Hojlund. Facundo Pellistri made a significant impact off the bench, replacing Antony and energising United's right flank.
Andre Onana made two crucial saves in the second half, while Diogo Dalot produced a vital interception. Aaron Wan-Bissaka was typically effective at clearing up danger, but it was Fernandes who proved the difference. His goal was his third of the season, all of which have been winners, underlining his importance to a side that remains a work in progress.
For Fulham, the absence of a reliable striker was painfully evident. Rodrigo Muniz made his first league start but went off in tears after suffering an injury, leaving the void left by Aleksandar Mitrovic unfilled. Despite a spirited performance, Fulham lacked the killer instinct needed to secure a result, and their fans showed their displeasure with a protest involving yellow cards held aloft around the ground.
