Everton December fixtures moved for Fleetwood cup tie

Everton's Premier League fixture at Nottingham Forest has been rescheduled after their Carabao Cup quarter-final at Fleetwood Town was confirmed for Thursday, December 17.

The Blues' trip to the Fylde coast will kick off at 8pm and be shown live on Sky Sports and ITV. As a result, the league game against Oliver Glasner's side at the City Ground moves to Sunday, December 20 (2pm), with the match also broadcast live on Sky Sports +.

Road to the quarter-finals

Everton set up the tie with a 3-1 win over Newcastle United in the previous round at Hill Dickinson Stadium on October 29, 2026, with goals from James Garner, Hayden Hackney and Thierno Barry. The draw had been made before that fourth-round meeting, so both clubs knew the winners would travel to Fleetwood, who had stunned reigning Premier League champions Arsenal on penalties two nights earlier.

David Moyes' men, who have never won the League Cup in any of its guises, now have just a League Two opponent between them and a first semi-final appearance since 2015/16.

Previous meetings

The clubs have met in the competition on two previous occasions, with Everton triumphing 5-2 on September 20, 2020, and 1-0 on August 23, 2022. Newcastle lifted the trophy in 2025 to end their 70-year domestic silverware drought.
