Arsenal loanee Ethan Nwaneri has made a strong impression on his Marseille teammates since joining in January, but his form has dipped amid the club's recent struggles. The 18-year-old scored on his debut against Lens but has since been substituted at half-time twice and found himself on the bench under new manager Habib Beye.
Journalist Fabrice Lamperti of La Provence noted that Nwaneri's teammates were 'blown away' by his debut performance. However, after a 5-0 defeat to PSG and the departure of former manager Roberto De Zerbi, Nwaneri's role has diminished. Marseille have won only one of their last six matches.
Lamperti believes Nwaneri can improve his decision-making and mental strength. 'His main strength is his dribbling and his left foot,' Lamperti said. 'But he needs to know when to pass or dribble and become mentally stronger.'
Nwaneri will hope to impress new boss Beye as Marseille prepare to host Lyon on Sunday.
