Sean Dyche was appointed Nottingham Forest manager on Tuesday morning, signing an initial contract until the summer of 2027. The 54-year-old replaces Ange Postecoglou, whose 39-day reign ended on Saturday following a disastrous run.
Dyche, known for his no-nonsense approach, is expected to implement strict training ground protocols. During his time at Everton, he immediately banned snoods and hats from training sessions and insisted all players wear shin pads.
Explaining his rationale, Dyche said: 'You train how you play. How can you train how you play if you have 14 snoods on, 15 hats and leggings, no shin pads? It's not rocket science.'
The former Everton boss emphasised that his rules are about common sense, not being hardline. 'I explain everything to the players and the reason behind it,' he added.
It remains unclear whether the same rules will be enforced at Forest, but given Dyche's forthright views, it is highly likely. His first match in charge is Thursday's Europa League clash against FC Porto at the City Ground.
