The Los Angeles Dodgers hosted the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday, but the real conflict erupted in the stands at Chavez Ravine. While the Giants secured a much-needed 6-2 victory, two groups of Dodgers fans engaged in a physical altercation in the upper deck along the first base line, as captured in a video that has since gone viral.
Details of the Altercation
The combatants, all women, were seen slapping each other before a screaming match ensued. Security personnel arrived and escorted some of the women away, but it remains unclear how the fight started or how the guards decided which party to remove. What is evident is that several women in one row were furious with at least one individual in the row in front of them.
One woman, wearing a black Freddie Freeman replica jersey, appeared to land more punches than anyone else and was heard berating others as security led two women away. 'Go!' she shouted at another combatant. 'Go!' The woman in the Freeman jersey also exchanged words with security before making a hand gesture as she was about to be escorted away.
