Matheus Cunha's sensational late strike handed Manchester United a dramatic 3-2 victory over title-chasing Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, extending Michael Carrick's perfect start as interim manager.
Arsenal took the lead on the half-hour mark when Lisandro Martinez deflected Martin Odegaard's effort into his own net. United levelled before the break as Bryan Mbeumo capitalised on a terrible Martin Zubimendi backpass to round David Raya and score.
Patrick Dorgu then put United ahead with a brilliant strike from distance, but Arsenal seemed to have secured a point when Mikel Merino prodded home from a corner. However, substitute Matheus Cunha had other ideas, thundering a 25-yard effort past Raya to seal all three points.
The victory keeps United in contention for European places while dealing a significant blow to Arsenal's Premier League title aspirations. Carrick has now gone five games unbeaten across his two spells in charge.
