Cristiano Ronaldo's 15-year-old son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, has received his first call-up to Portugal's Under-16 squad. The teenager, who currently plays for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr alongside his father, will travel to Turkey for the Federations Cup Tournament.
Scheduled from 30 October to 4 November, the tournament will see Portugal face teams from Turkey, Wales and England. The squad announcement continues Ronaldo Jr's progression through youth international football, following his appearance for the Under-15s in May.
Ronaldo Jr has previously spent time in the youth setups at Juventus and Manchester United, both clubs where his father played before moving to the Saudi Pro League in December 2022. The call-up raises the prospect of him one day sharing a pitch with his father at senior international level.
His father, Cristiano Ronaldo, made his debut for Portugal's Under-15s in 2001 and has since amassed 223 caps and 143 goals for the senior side, both world records in men's international football.
