Chelsea's dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over West Ham descended into chaos in stoppage time after a huge brawl broke out. Jean-Clair Todibo was shown a straight red card for violent conduct after grabbing Chelsea's Joao Pedro by the throat at Stamford Bridge.
VAR reviewed the incident before referee Anthony Taylor was sent to the pitch-side monitor. Taylor announced: 'After review, West Ham number 25 grabs Chelsea number 20 round the throat in a violent manner. Therefore my final decision is a red card, violent conduct.'
The melee started when Pedro pushed Adama Traore, who had been involved in a tussle with Marc Cucurella. Both sets of players clashed, with Todibo grabbing Pedro's neck. Gary Neville commented on Sky Sports: 'At one point he's got hold of his neck and he looks like he's trying to eat him.'
West Ham had taken an early lead through Jarrod Bowen, and Crysencio Summerville doubled their advantage before half-time. Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior made a triple substitution at the break, and all three players played a crucial role. Pedro scored the first goal before Cucurella levelled the scores.
In the 92nd minute, Enzo Fernandez completed the comeback, firing home from Pedro's cut-back. The win moved Chelsea back up to fourth place in the Premier League table. Pedro told Sky Sports: 'Sometimes this can happen, but we have a strong squad. We showed we are capable to do it.'
