Jorginho Prioritises Chelsea Contract Over Barcelona Interest, Says Agent

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has made signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge his top priority despite ongoing links with Barcelona, according to his agent Joao Santos. The 30-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, and Barcelona have been tipped to make a move given their financial constraints.

Santos told Tuttomercatoweb: 'We are due in June. We prioritise Chelsea and we are moving towards it. Another priority for Jorginho is to do well with the national team.' The agent’s comments come after he was spotted in Barcelona earlier this year, sparking speculation about a potential transfer.

Santos downplayed the significance of his visit, saying: 'I work in football. I have been to Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia but also in other parts such as Lyon. It's work. I'm Jorginho's agent, I may have talked about him but also about others.' Barcelona are reportedly seeking a replacement for Sergio Busquets, who is expected to join MLS at the season’s end.

Jorginho himself has previously expressed his desire to stay at Chelsea. He said earlier this year: 'I feel very well here. Of course, I’d like to stay... I don’t think about moving anywhere.' The Italian international remains focused on his current club despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.
