Chelsea stance on selling £54m star to Liverpool or Man City

Chelsea believe they are capable of raising significant funds from the potential sale of Pedro Neto. The Portugal international joined the Blues from Wolves two years ago in a deal worth more than £50m. Neto has shown only flashes of his potential during two chaotic years at Stamford Bridge, seeing a number of managers come and go. The constant upheaval has seen many players join and rival him for a position on the flanks.

Neto’s best run of form since his move came during Enzo Maresca’s time in charge, and the newly installed Manchester City boss is understood to be keen on a reunion. Liverpool are also monitoring the 26-year-old’s situation, while clubs in Saudi Arabia maintain a long-standing interest.

Market Value and Potential Profit

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are not actively pushing for a sale but believe they could generate a major profit if they part company with Neto. With most of Europe’s top clubs scouring the market for wingers, Chelsea believe prices have been significantly inflated this summer. RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain are both asking for fees well in excess of £100m for Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola. Chelsea themselves paid £117m to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, breaking the British transfer record.

Neto Not on Tour

Neto is not currently on Chelsea’s tour, which started in Sydney, Australia, as he is still having downtime after representing Portugal at the World Cup. Chelsea’s other Portuguese right winger, Geovany Quenda, is due to join the team after the Australian leg as they move to Asia. Quenda, 19, picked up a 'small injury' per sources. Chelsea’s new striker from Strasbourg, Emmanuel Emegha, will return to training later after a hamstring issue during a behind-closed-doors friendly win over Bromley.
