Chelsea Fined £150,000 After Bottle Thrown at Aston Villa Technical Area

Chelsea have been fined £150,000 after a plastic bottle was thrown from their technical area towards Aston Villa's staff during the Premier League match at Stamford Bridge in December.

The incident occurred after Ollie Watkins scored twice from the bench to secure a 2-1 comeback victory for Villa. During the celebrations, a bottle, believed to be filled with water, was hurled at the visiting technical area.

Referee Stuart Atwell confirmed the offence in his match report, stating he was made aware of an allegation that an unidentified member of the Chelsea technical area had thrown a plastic drinks bottle in the direction of the Aston Villa technical area.

An independent regulatory commission imposed the fine after Chelsea admitted to the charge, the Football Association announced on Friday.

Chelsea, currently sixth in the table, are set to face Crystal Palace on Sunday before travelling to Napoli for a Champions League league phase match on Wednesday.
