Carrick Reverses Solskjaer's Phil Jones Decision at Man Utd

Michael Carrick, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo chose to watch Manchester United's 1-0 win over Liverpool from the away end at Anfield rather than with their teammates. The injured trio were spotted in the visitors' section of the Anfield Road stand, joining enthusiastically in celebrations after Wayne Rooney's late goal.

Carrick has been sidelined since sustaining an injury in the 2-1 win over Swansea City on 2 January, in which Jones also picked up an ankle knock. Rojo has a dislocated shoulder and has not played since the 0-0 draw with PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League in November.

The decision to sit with fans marks a reversal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's previous stance on injured players. Under Solskjaer, Jones was reportedly told to stay away from the matchday squad, but Carrick's move appears to have overturned that policy.
