Liverpool's £250m Transfer Chaos: Carragher Slams 'Unplanned' Spending Spree and Rejects Isak Move
Carragher: Liverpool's £250m window 'wasn't planned'

Liverpool's £250m summer transfer window has come under fire from club legend Jamie Carragher, who described the spending spree as 'messy' and lacking proper planning.

The former Reds defender didn't hold back in his assessment of the club's recruitment strategy, telling The Daily Mail: 'It doesn't look like it's been really planned.'

Carragher Questions Liverpool's Transfer Strategy

Carragher expressed particular concern about the scattergun approach to signings, suggesting the club lacked a clear vision during the window. 'When you look at the players they've brought in, it feels reactive rather than part of a coherent strategy,' he said.

Why Carragher Opposes Isak Move

The Sky Sports pundit also weighed in on speculation linking Liverpool with Newcastle's Alexander Isak, making it clear he doesn't believe the Swedish striker would be the right fit for Jurgen Klopp's side.

'Isak's a good player, but is he what Liverpool need right now? I'm not convinced,' Carragher stated. 'They've already got Darwin Nunez, and they need to give him time to develop rather than bringing in another expensive forward.'

Defensive Concerns Remain

While Liverpool splashed the cash on midfield reinforcements, Carragher believes defensive issues haven't been properly addressed. 'They've spent big on attackers and midfielders, but I still see vulnerabilities at the back that could cost them,' he warned.

The criticism comes after Liverpool broke their transfer record to sign Moises Caicedo before eventually landing Ryan Gravenberch on deadline day, in what many observers described as a chaotic end to the window.
