Tom Brady is set to make a surprise return to the football field in March 2026, competing in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic in Saudi Arabia. The tournament, over three years after his NFL retirement, will see the seven-time Super Bowl champion joined by stars including Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, CeeDee Lamb, and Rob Gronkowski.
The competition will feature three teams of eight players each, led by NFL head coaches Pete Carroll, Sean Payton, and Kyle Shanahan. Matches will be 5-on-5 on a 50-yard field with two 10-minute end zones, played in two 20-minute halves. The event will be held at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh as part of Riyadh Season, with comedian Kevin Hart presenting.
Brady's competitive spirit remains intact, and he has hinted at a desire to play for the United States flag football team at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. 'I couldn't be more excited to return to the field,' he said. 'I have always admired the power of flag football and how it connects fans of all ages.'
Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, said the event will help flag football expand globally. 'Riyadh Season prides itself on staging world-class events,' he stated. 'We are pleased to be playing our part in supporting flag football's continued growth.'
Other expected participants include Tyreek Hill, Myles Garrett, and Odell Beckham Jr. Further details about the tournament will be unveiled in the coming months.
