Big Stacks has confirmed his Misfits Boxing fight with Jordan McCann will go ahead as planned on Saturday night in Newcastle, despite suffering a busted lip in a physical altercation earlier this week.
The 33-year-old, real name Charlie Robert, was involved in the incident on Wednesday afternoon, appearing to be sucker-punched as he left the stage after speaking. Footage showed him dealing with a bloodied lip after the minor scuffle, with security intervening after he threatened to throw a chair at the unknown assailants.
Fight still on
Taking to social media shortly after the altercation, Big Stacks said: "It's all kicked off again today. F*** it. At least we ain't injured. At least we can still fight. We got some dead cheap shot by these f****** nerds. They tried to cheap shot me. Soft as f***. All those lot are f***** because they tried to get to me. It is what it is. The night is still on. The fight is still on. They did not injure me. They tried. They tried throwing a chair at me. You cannot rock me. I'm here still fighting."
The busted lip was similar to scenes involving McCann back in June, when both were involved in a fiery brawl at an open workout in the build-up to a Misfits event. McCann, who was fighting Ibiza Final Boss on that billing, punched Stacks and was eventually escorted out of the arena, leaving Stacks injured.
Feud to be settled
Following that altercation, Stacks was involved in a 'bodyshots only' bout against Armz Korleone, which he went on to lose. He now has the opportunity to settle his feud with McCann under normal boxing rules.
Elsewhere on the card, Ibiza Final Boss, real name Jack Kay, is set for his second fight under the Misfits banner after defeating McCann in June. Double Olympic champion Jade Jones will also fight on the card, taking on Sheena Bathory for the Misfits women's cruiserweight title.
