Craig Bellamy has insisted that the vacant Celtic managerial position 'isn’t on my radar', as speculation linking him to the Parkhead role continues. The Wales manager, who had a loan spell at Celtic in 2005, addressed the rumours during a press conference to announce his squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
'I can understand the links because I played there,' said Bellamy. 'But I love what I’m doing at this present moment and I’m completely focused on what’s to come.' He stressed his commitment to Wales, adding, 'Anything else just isn’t on my radar and it won’t be on my radar. I’m a real proud Welshman.'
Bellamy, 46, signed a four-year contract in July 2024 that runs until Euro 2028, a tournament Wales will co-host. He described his role as 'one of the best periods of my life' and said he would stay as long as he is wanted.
The manager named a 26-man squad for the qualifiers against Liechtenstein and North Macedonia, with Aaron Ramsey absent due to injury and personal issues. Ramsey’s family dog, Halo, went missing in Mexico, and reports suggest the midfielder has mutually terminated his contract with Pumas UNAM.
Bellamy declined to comment on Ramsey’s club situation, noting, 'It’s not for me to give clarity on that.' He confirmed Ramsey remains injured and unavailable for selection, and expressed sympathy: 'I know it’s a difficult situation for his family. There are other things more important than football.'
