Mark Chapman will front the BBC's live coverage of England's World Cup semi-final against Argentina on Wednesday night after the broadcaster revealed his latest salary. The popular presenter now earns between £335,000 and £340,000 for the 2025/26 financial year, a slight increase from the £325,000–£329,999 he earned the previous year.
The figures, published as part of the BBC's annual report, cover Chapman's work across flagship programmes including BBC Radio 5 Live Sport, Match of the Day, Champions League football and Challenge Cup rugby league. The 52-year-old became one of the new presenters of Match of the Day last year, alongside Kelly Cates and Gabby Logan, and continues to host The Sports Agents podcast with Logan.
Chapman's professional success comes after a period of personal tragedy. His wife, Sara, died in June 2020 at the age of 44 following a battle with cancer. The couple married in 2001 and had three children together. A source told The Sun at the time that Chapman and his children were 'absolutely devastated'.
In 2024, it emerged that Chapman had found love again with estate agent Clere Collier, who divides her time between Dubai and the UK. The relationship became public after Collier posted a birthday tribute on social media, calling Chapman 'my one love'. She has previously worked for an estate agency in north London and has been linked with high-profile figures, including singer Dane Bowers. The couple were photographed enjoying a stroll in Altrincham earlier this year.
