Arsenal are reportedly preparing a double transfer move for Ecuadorian teenage twins Edwin and Holger Quintero, who have been likened to Neymar and Thiago Alcântara respectively. The 16-year-old siblings currently play for Independiente Del Valle, a club renowned for producing top talent such as Chelsea's Moisés Caicedo and Arsenal's Piero Hincapié.
According to reports, Arsenal scouts have monitored the Quintero brothers for the past 12 months. Edwin, a left-footed right-winger, has drawn comparisons with a young Neymar, while Holger operates as a central midfielder and has been likened to Thiago Alcântara. Both have represented Ecuador at youth level and featured in prestigious tournaments like the Next Generation Trophy.
Independiente Del Valle's sporting director Andrés Larriva explained the club's academy model, which houses over 150 players on site. “Scouting is fundamental in the club, the main process for attracting talent,” Larriva told Caracol Colombia. “What the club sought was to emulate the training process with reference to Barcelona but also to other Spanish teams.”
The Ecuadorian side has already agreed to sell another academy product, centre-back Deinner Ordonez, to Chelsea, with the move set to be completed in 2028. Arsenal's interest in the Quintero twins signals their intent to secure promising young talent for the future under sporting director Andrea Berta.
