A busy route along the A592 Windermere shore in the Lake District has been shut following a serious collision.
Cumbria Police closed the road near Tower Wood at 10.52pm on Saturday 1 August. The exact nature of the crash has not yet been confirmed, but officers described the incident as "serious".

A force spokesperson said: "Cumbria Constabulary are currently dealing with a serious traffic collision on the A592 Windermere shore, near Tower Wood. The road will be closed for some time. Please try and find alternate routes."
