Mikel Arteta has dismissed suggestions Arsenal were fortunate not to concede a penalty against Liverpool, insisting he has a "massive library" of similar incidents that went unpunished.
The Gunners beat Liverpool 1-0 on Sunday to secure their first win at Anfield since 2012. The result moved the champions three points clear at the top of the Premier League, but the match featured several controversial moments.
Timber incident under scrutiny
Jurrien Timber was extremely lucky not to be penalised for pulling Alexander Isak's shirt inside the box as the striker attempted to reach a cross. Liverpool were furious at the decision, and Andoni Iraola said after the game that he would demand his players dive to the ground in future after Isak stayed on his feet.
Arteta suggested immediately after the match that he had not seen any replays. Ahead of Arsenal's clash with Slavia Prague, he indicated the incident did not merit so much discussion.
Arteta's response
"I have a lot of clips about shirts, pulls, grabs," the Spaniard said. "I have a massive library that we can talk about. We're talking about one in particular, I have a massive library that we can throw there to remind everybody what every team is going through."
The comments echoed those Arteta made last month in response to his second booking of the season for leaving his technical area on the touchline. He has been shown a yellow card against Sunderland and Leeds this season, and another would result in a touchline ban.
"There are managers who have the record in the league, 36 times in 10 minutes [they] leave the touchline - no yellows," Arteta said. "I am clipping all of that so I have now a massive storage of images, so if somebody comes to me I can say, 'I am not in the record yet'. Somebody else has the record so let's see."
"Then it's 36 yellow cards in 10 minutes for the managers. I don't know what we are going to do - let's see."
