Arsenal take on Lille this evening in the Champions League. The Gunners host the Ligue 1 side on matchday two of the league phase, having defeated Napoli 1-0 last time out to open their campaign with maximum points.
Team News and Form
The Premier League champions, beaten by holders Paris Saint-Germain in last season’s final, are in good form this term and are coming off the back of a 2-1 victory over Leeds United at the weekend. While they were unconvincing as a collective, Noni Madueke shone while Bruno Guimaraes had an instant impact as a substitute, lashing home the winner at the Emirates Stadium.
They face a Lille team second in the French top flight. Davide Ancelotti, Carlo’s son, is the head coach, and he has overseen four wins, a draw and a defeat in his first six league games. They were beaten 3-2 by Real Betis in their opening European tie, but they returned from the international break to winning ways with a 1-0 triumph over Le Havre, thanks to Dilane Bakwa, the Nottingham Forest loanee.
