Arsenal Lead Race for Viktor Gyokeres as Striker Snubs Manchester United

Viktor Gyokeres has reportedly set his sights on a move to Arsenal or Juventus this summer, snubbing long-time admirers Manchester United. The Swedish striker, who has scored 97 goals in 102 games for Sporting CP, is valued at £70 million and has expressed frustration over the lack of progress on his transfer.

According to Portuguese publication A Bola, Gyokeres has identified Arsenal and Juventus as his preferred destinations, with the Italian club offering a substantial £11-million-a-year wage package. The 27-year-old is also open to approaches from Manchester City and Liverpool, adding to United's disappointment.

However, Arsenal appear close to signing RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, with personal terms already agreed and a fee of around £85 million expected. If that deal goes through, Gyokeres may turn his attention to Juventus, who are keen to secure his services.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are considering a move for Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike as an alternative. The French striker, priced at £60 million, scored 22 goals last season and has been given the green light to leave by Frankfurt chief Markus Kroshce.
