Bukayo Saka signs new five-year contract with Arsenal, becoming club's highest-paid player

Arsenal have confirmed that Bukayo Saka has signed a new five-year contract, keeping him at the club until 2031. The 24-year-old winger, whose previous deal was due to expire in June 2027, has committed his future to the Gunners amid interest from clubs in England and across Europe.

The new contract makes Saka Arsenal's highest-paid player, with wages exceeding £300,000 per week. Speaking to the official club website, Saka said: "I'm feeling amazing. I think it's a fantastic moment for my family and for me. I feel immense joy to continue my journey at this club. For me, it was an easy commitment and I just hope to win everything here."

Saka has become an integral part of Mikel Arteta's starting XI and is competing for an unprecedented quadruple this season. He has made 239 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 78 goals, including seven this season. His most recent strike came in Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Wolves.

The academy graduate is a fan-favourite and captains the side in the absence of Martin Odegaard. He ranks top for goals, assists, shots and chances created, underlining his importance on the right wing. Saka added: "When I reflect at the end of my career, I want to be able to look back and see a kid that started aged seven, eight years old on trial for Arsenal and then went the whole way to win every trophy that there is available to win."

Saka's extension is a major boost for Arsenal, following similar long-term deals for William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly last summer. He has also scored 14 goals in 48 appearances for England and is expected to be part of Thomas Tuchel's squad for the World Cup starting in June.
