Angryginge Calls Soccer Aid Return a 'Pinch-Me Moment' After I'm a Celebrity Win
Angryginge: Soccer Aid Return a 'Pinch-Me Moment'

Social media sensation Angryginge has declared his return to Soccer Aid for Unicef as a genuine "pinch-me moment," expressing overwhelming excitement ahead of the annual charity football spectacle. The 24-year-old content creator, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, will feature in the event for the second consecutive year, following his standout performance last season.

A Thrilling Opportunity for Charity

Speaking exclusively to the Press Association, Burtwistle revealed his profound enthusiasm for the upcoming match, scheduled for May 31 at London Stadium. "I’m over the moon to be invited back and very excited," he stated, reflecting on his previous involvement. "Last year, I enjoyed it a lot." The Salford-born star, a lifelong Manchester United supporter, earned man-of-the-match honours at a prior Soccer Aid fixture, labelling that achievement a personal "highlight."

Unforgettable Memories and Future Aspirations

Burtwistle vividly recalled the electrifying atmosphere of last year's event, held at Old Trafford. "The best moment was probably the Old Trafford stadium chanting my name," he reminisced. "I don’t think anything will ever top that, in my opinion." He emphasised the surreal nature of participating in such a high-profile occasion, noting, "To play football in front of a crowd, never mind with so many icons and celebrities and stuff like that – it’s always a pinch-me moment."

The influencer is determined to replicate his previous success, asserting, "I’m looking to hopefully do the same again." Beyond personal glory, Burtwistle underscored the charitable core of Soccer Aid, describing it as a "good experience to be part of." He explained, "The main aim is to raise as much money for charity, and I think the best way to do that is by putting on an entertaining game for the crowd and for the people watching at home. And that’s what I’ll try and do every time."

Star-Studded Reunions and Rising Fame

Burtwistle also shared his anticipation about reuniting with former Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney, as both will represent the England team alongside presenter Paddy McGuinness. He praised McGuinness as an "absolute laugh" from their prior collaboration, highlighting the camaraderie among participants.

The content creator's profile has skyrocketed since his victory in the latest series of ITV's I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, where he was crowned King of the Jungle. Discussing his heightened recognition, Burtwistle remarked, "I try not to change anything, because I don’t really want to. All that happens is I get recognised a bit more in public, so I maybe put a hat on or something like that – but apart from that, I just crack on."

Heartfelt Gratitude for Fan Support

He expressed deep appreciation for his devoted fanbase, calling them "absolutely amazing" and their support "unbelievable – no matter what I do. I will never, ever be not grateful for that." This unwavering encouragement fuels his commitment to both entertainment and philanthropy.

Soccer Aid for Unicef promises another thrilling encounter between celebrity and footballing stars, divided into England and World XI teams. Tickets for the May 31 event at London Stadium start from £20 for adults and £10 for juniors, with further details available through official channels.
