JJ Gabriel Breaks Man Utd Record as Barcelona Circle

Manchester United youngster JJ Gabriel has set a new club record by becoming the youngest-ever goalscorer in the FA Youth Cup at just 15 years old. The teenager scored the only goal in United’s 1-0 victory over Peterborough United in the competition, surpassing previous benchmarks.

Gabriel's strike adds to an impressive season that has seen him net 11 goals in 12 games, including a hat-trick against Liverpool’s under-18s. His form has attracted interest from Barcelona, with the Spanish club reportedly monitoring his progress. However, United are keen to secure his future, with technical director Jason Wilcox pushing for a new two-year deal.

Head coach Ruben Amorim has also taken a personal interest, holding a meeting with Gabriel and praising his potential. “We try to pick players for training that have talent, not just for me to see for tomorrow but for them to feel what it means to be in the first team,” Amorim said. “If we can use every training we have to show the kids what they need to do to be here, it is important.”

Gabriel has also met club legend Sir Alex Ferguson, sharing a photo on Instagram with the caption: “Great honour to meet legend Sir Alex Ferguson.” Meanwhile, a potential move to Barcelona could see him link up with fellow United academy product Marcus Rashford, who is currently on loan at the Camp Nou with an option to buy for £26 million.
