Gary Neville has claimed Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens told his teammates he didn't 'want the ball' after some hairy moments against Tottenham Hotspur. The former Red Devils right-back highlighted the Belgian's struggles during a difficult first-half.
Distribution issues and a near miss
The United number one struggled with his distribution and was at fault in almost gifting Spurs the opener before clearing out of play. Lammens' pass to Kobbie Mainoo was cut out inside 10 minutes, but the shot-stopper stepped up to deny Dominic Solanke a certain effort from close range.
Neville's lip-reading claim
Neville picked up on the 24-year-old's struggles and made the bold claim that he urged his teammates not to pass the ball back to him. He said: "Senne Lammens, that ball is getting back to him too much by the way, number one. But number two, when it comes back to him, he's looking like it's a struggle in his mind. 'I don't want it' he's just said, I'm not a lip reader but there was a little f (swear word) in there as well."
