Tyson Fury has revealed he was left 'terrified' after the private jet he and his family were travelling on was forced to make an emergency landing due to a mechanical issue mid-flight. The retired heavyweight boxing champion, 37, had been flying with his wife Paris Fury, 35, and their seven children shortly after renewing their wedding vows in France.
The aircraft had flown approximately 100 miles before the pilot alerted passengers of a malfunction involving one of the wings. Speaking on Instagram Stories, Fury recounted: 'The captain's come over to me and said, we've got to turn this plane around because there's a problem with one of the wings and it won't fix on the computer.'
Fury, who has been open about his struggles with anxiety and mental health, admitted the situation deeply unsettled him. 'Talk about totally sh***ing yourself. So we're now spinning the plane around and going back to the airport where we started. Terrifying,' he added, visibly shaken in a video filmed inside the cabin.
The incident occurred shortly after the couple celebrated a significant personal milestone. They renewed their vows in an intimate ceremony in the South of France, attended only by their children. Paris wore a white bespoke gown by Self-Portrait, while Tyson opted for a casual look. The couple shared photos on Instagram, with Fury captioning: 'Paris Fury and I got married again; third time lucky.'
Fury announced his retirement from professional boxing in 2022 after an undefeated career and has since remained in the public eye through reality TV and social media.
