Piers Morgan has escalated his war of words with Jake Paul by challenging the American YouTuber-turned-boxer and his brother Logan to a 'double header' fight. The 60-year-old broadcaster, who has been trading insults with Paul in recent days, made the offer on his show Piers Morgan Uncensored.
Morgan, who has been training in boxing for a few months, said: 'I'm in his right age wheelhouse, I'm 60-years-old with zero professional boxing experience, so I'm pretty much his perfect target for his next fight!' He proposed a double header where Logan Paul would rematch his brother Jake, and Morgan would take on Jake Paul himself.
MMA star Dillon Danis, who was also on the show, supported the idea and called Jake Paul 'trash', offering to fight him under MMA rules. The challenge came after Paul defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a cruiserweight bout on Saturday, a win that Morgan branded a 'farce' on social media.
Paul responded by threatening to sue Morgan for defamation, claiming the journalist's comments about his fights being 'staged' were damaging. Paul's business partner Nakisa Bidarian called Morgan's remarks 'baseless and irresponsible'.
Morgan hit back, stating that Paul is 'not a real boxer' but an entertainer making money from 'light entertainment'. He added that Paul 'sounds very rattled' by the criticism.
