Moses Itauma delivered a stunning first-round knockout of Dillian Whyte in their all-British heavyweight clash in Riyadh, extending his perfect professional record to 13 wins. The 20-year-old southpaw from Chatham overwhelmed the 37-year-old veteran within two minutes, sending Whyte to the canvas with a powerful right hook.
Whyte, a former WBC interim heavyweight champion, struggled to settle as Itauma immediately took control, testing him with jabs and precision combinations before the decisive blow. The referee stepped in to wave off the contest with just over a minute left in the first round after Whyte stumbled back to his feet.
Despite calls for a world title shot in 2026, Itauma played down the possibility of facing Oleksandr Usyk, the undisputed heavyweight champion. “I don’t believe I deserve the opportunity,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra. “But guys that do deserve the opportunity, I want to fight those lot. So maybe Agit Kabayel, maybe Joseph Parker.”
Itauma, born in Slovakia, said he had trained hard for the fight but did not expect it to end so quickly. He plans to rest before returning to the gym, leaving fans and pundits speculating on his next opponent.
