Floyd Mayweather's planned exhibition fight with Mike Tyson has been thrown into uncertainty after kickboxer Mike Zambidis teased a showdown with the American boxing legend.
Zambidis, a former multiple-time kickboxing champion, shared a poster on Instagram for a fight against Mayweather scheduled for 27 June at the Oaka Arena in Athens, Greece. The poster listed Mayweather Promotions, Zambidis Club and Front Row Fight Series as organisers, with a 'live worldwide broadcast' but no broadcaster confirmed.
Mayweather, 48, has not commented on the poster or confirmed any details. He last fought in August 2024, an exhibition bout against John Gotti III, and has competed in numerous exhibitions since retiring from professional boxing in 2017.
The announcement in September that Mayweather would face Tyson in spring 2026 now appears in doubt. Tyson, 59, had claimed the fight would take place in Africa in March, but no date or venue was officially confirmed.
Zambidis, 45, has not fought since a kickboxing match on 27 June 2015, exactly 11 years before the proposed date. Mayweather has also been linked to a rematch with Manny Pacquiao, whom he outpointed in 2015.
