Ken Shamrock has been suspended indefinitely by IMPACT Wrestling, following a violent on-screen rampage that saw him attack a referee and other officials. The suspension was announced by IMPACT president Scott D'Amore on this week's show, citing Shamrock's refusal to release his ankle lock hold on the official and subsequent assault on additional referees and security guards.
Fellow wrestler Sami Callihan, who had recently aligned with Shamrock, endorsed the decision. It remains unclear whether the suspension is a temporary storyline or marks a permanent departure from the promotion.
Shamrock, a former WWE and UFC star, returned to IMPACT in 2019 after a long absence, having previously been the company's first world champion during the TNA era. In an interview last year, he expressed his desire to prove he could still compete in the main event and reclaim the championship.
'Get the title – nothing more, nothing less,' Shamrock said at the time. 'I don't think that anybody should get to a point where they feel like, oh, I'm just going to lay back and die now. No, man, I'm gonna live every moment, every second!'
