Jake Paul has admitted that the broken jaw he suffered during his December loss to Anthony Joshua may end his boxing career. The YouTuber-turned-boxer was stopped by the former world champion and says the injury is still being monitored five months on.
Speaking to Uncrowned on Monday, Paul said: “We’ll see what my doctors say. I’ll be able to get a more accurate timeframe, or can I even fight again? That is definitely in the realm and possibilities of things [that I can’t].” He added that his career could be over depending on how the bone heals and the need for a dental implant.
Paul’s defeat to Joshua was only the second loss of his 14-fight professional career. The bout was his first against a world-class boxer, with previous opponents including a 58-year-old Mike Tyson and former NBA player Nate Robinson. Despite his limited success in the ring, Paul has earned tens of millions from his fights.
The 29-year-old said he had no regrets about facing Joshua, describing the experience as a “net positive” for his businesses, content, and fighting experience. He remains open to future fights, but only if medically cleared.
