Andrew Tate has been seen with a black eye just weeks before his boxing debut, as he prepares to face Chase DeMoor in the headline act of Misfits 23 on December 20 in Dubai.
The former kickboxing world champion, 38, last fought in the ring five years ago, but is now set to take on the reigning Misfits heavyweight champion. DeMoor, who won the title last year, has defended it twice and most recently drew with Efrain Carranza Gonzalez in September.
Tate admitted during an interview with iFL TV that the injury came from sparring with high-level UFC veterans. 'I am quite awkward, but we do have some high level competition... A couple of them caught me with some shots, but that is what you need,' he said.
Despite his financial success, Tate said he is returning to fighting because 'sometimes you have got to go back to what you know'. He added: 'I am just a Luton council estate guy with a whole bunch of money.'
The fight is expected to take place at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai, with the main card starting around 6pm UK time. Official broadcasting details have not yet been announced.
